NASA is exploring potential partnerships for alternate use cases for the On-orbit Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing-1 (OSAM-1) spaceflight property in lieu of the original flight demonstration.

The Consortium for Space Mobility and In-space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) Capabilities (COSMIC) is launching an annual student challenge to design and demonstrate novel capabilities in space.

Held May 15-16, 2024, in Logan, Utah, the COSMIC Consortium convened 170 in-person attendees along with 140 virtual attendees to continue to build momentum toward making ISAM a routine part of space architectures and missions.

About COSMIC

The Consortium for Space Mobility and ISAM Capabilities (COSMIC) is a nationwide coalition that will invigorate a domestic in-space servicing, assembly, and manufacturing (ISAM) capability.

COSMIC’s Vision: Create a nationwide alliance that enables the U.S. space community to provide global leadership in ISAM.

COSMIC’s Mission: Making ISAM a routine part of space architectures and mission lifecycles.
