COSMIC Crossroads Documentary Released
As we approach America’s 249th birthday, there’s so much to consider about how far the American space program has come.
Here at COSMIC, we are endeavoring to further US leadership in space and break free from the constraints of single-use satellites, earth-constructed payloads, and solely terrestrial building materials.
This is the promise of In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM).
Because ISAM is not a question of “if” – but rather it is a matter of “when” and “who.”
Our core mission is uniting the American domestic space community to ensure our continued global leadership through the use of ISAM as a routine part of space architectures and mission lifecycles.
As part of this mission, we invite you to watch and share our new 13-minute documentary on the future we can build in orbit and beyond.
Practitioners understand that in order to keep space accessible — even as it gets more crowded every year, a Space Superhighway is needed.
This would comprise a network of ISAM-capable robots that will form a connected infrastructure designed to keep spacecraft fueled, repaired, upgraded, and built in orbit.
Just like highways on Earth are equipped with gas stations, tow trucks, and repair shops, space will need its own support systems to be accessible for future generations.
COSMIC Crossroads explores how America is leading efforts to build this Space Superhighway — and how these technologies are being developed by organizations across the nation to maintain U.S leadership in space. Interviews include experts from NASA and the U.S. Space Force, as well as leaders from across the aerospace industry and academia.
