Workshop Announcement: Cost and Value Modeling of On-Orbit Servicing

In September, members of COSMIC’s Missions & Ecosystems Focus Area are hosting their largest two-day virtual workshop to date: Cost and Value Modeling of On-Orbit Servicing

This critical topic comes as leaders throughout the domestic space enterprise have been agitating for a more thoughtful, comprehensive, and cohesive approach to ISAM adoption.

When: September 16th and 18th, 12pm-3pm ET both days

What: Each day will feature two sections facilitated by COSMIC member-leaders spanning Industry, Government, and Academia.

Where: Online via Zoom

Who: The workshop is open to both COSMIC members and non-members to participate

Register for Day One on The Need and The Research

Register for Day Two on Modeling Servicing and Spacecraft

More information:

Day 1 –

The Need Why servicing hasn’t sold & why we need value modeling methodologies with briefers from USSF, NASA, and industry leaders

The Research Quantifying the value of satellite refueling and repositioning, and/or servicing integration into the space enterprise with briefers from MIT.

Day Two –

Modeling Servicing The (Client-Focused) Value of On-Orbit Servicing with briefers from NASA, and The Aerospace Corporation

Modeling Spacecraft The Cost of Prepared Client Spacecraft with briefers from NASA and industry leaders

During this workshop, we will explore:

  • The challenges and opportunities in modeling on-orbit servicing cost and value
  • Methods to accurately assess costs while maximizing mission value
  • Emerging industry trends and capability advancements
  • Trades across the mission lifecycle and work-to-go in the OOS industry

We know your expertise would contribute significantly to the discussion, and your insights could help drive innovations in this critical area. Please RSVP today confirm your attendance.
